Piccolina

Stay a little longer.

Piccolina — “little one” in Italian — is the name my husband has called me for years.

It felt only right for our little home in the Cotswolds.

We kept what made the cottage special, added the comforts we couldn’t live without, and filled it with things we’ve collected along the way.

The arrival

Settle in slowly.

A few things waiting in the fridge for breakfast. A Quooker for filtered drinking water and instant boiling water for tea. A Nespresso for coffee.

We care about good sleep.

A few comforts.

Pure cotton robes and towels. Bamford bath and body products. A Dyson hairdryer on hand.

A few pairs of boots, water bottles, umbrellas, rain ponchos. Yoga mats, games and books for staying in.

A long walk

Boots on for one of our favorite walks. A pub waiting at the end. The kind of day we never tire of.

A rainy day

A book left open, something warm to drink. Nowhere else to be.

An evening in

A little aperitivo while settling in. When we get peckish, we wander over for dinner at our local.

How many can stay

Four, including children and infants.

The rooms

Two bedrooms, one bathroom. One has a king, the other doubles as a study with two singles hidden away for when you need them. There’s also a powder room or cloakroom, as the English say.
Where it is
Eastleach, in the Cotswolds. The nearest stations are Swindon and Kemble, both around thirty minutes away, with direct trains to London Paddington in a little over an hour. Heathrow is roughly an hour and a half by car.
Getting here
We recommend having a car. There are taxis too, best booked ahead. Free street parking is usually easy to find, though there’s no EV charging.
Signal
Wi-Fi throughout the cottage. Mobile signal comes and goes out in the country lanes.
Pets
Piccolina can’t host pets, sadly.
Smoking
The cottage is smoke-free, including vaping, both indoors and outdoors.
Parties & events
Piccolina isn’t suitable for parties or events.
The fireplace
One of our favorite features, but decorative only. For fire safety, we ask that you don’t light it — or use candles, incense or other open flames.
Security
One camera at the front door, facing the public road.
